According to
WorstPreviews.com, rapper TI
says that a
Takers
prequel is in the works.
After the
US
final box office numbers came in,
Takers
ended up taking first place during the
weekend, beating
The Last Exorcism
by just $150,000. The film made back its $20
million budget in only three days.
"I just got off the phone with the director,
writer, the head of Screen Gems and the label
heads over at Sony,"
TI revealed
"We are working not a sequel, but a prequel to
tell the back story of the characters."

The cast of
Takers,
including Paul, was yesterday at the
Atlantic Station Regal Cinema for the
Atlanta premiere
of the movie,
read the news from
11alive.com.
"(The other actors) have been all over the
place doing (appearances), and I'm just
getting caught up to speed right now,
everybody else is in the zone,'
laughed
Paul Walker, one of the movie's stars.
"I did this movie two years ago, and
I'm like what did we shoot again? I just got
interviewed, and they were like what was your
character and I couldn't remember."

A film crew working on

has set up operations in a Conyers warehouse
on the metro Atlanta area. It’s unknow
if any stars will be present in Atlanta and
how long the crew will stay in town,
apparently scenes for
Fast Five
will be filmed in and around Atlanta through
the end of October.

Popular latino actor Joaquim de Almeida
joins
Fast Five,
he will be playing a powerful Drug Lord. De
Almeida plays a similar role in
The Death and Life of Bobby Z,
also opposite to Paul Walker.
Elsa Pataky
and Matt Schulze have also joined the
cast. Pataky, who appeared in
Snakes on a Plane,
will play Diesel's love interest;
Schulze reprises his role as Vince
from the original film. Jordana Brewster,
TJ Hassan and LA'Tino also will
be seen on the movie.

MTV's Josh Horowitz spoke to
Dwayne Johnson recently at the Spike
Guy's Choice Awards and he managed to
squeeze out a few new details about the
character and his role in
Fast Five.
"We're gonna introduce a new character into
the franchise,"
he said.
"A really unique U.S. Marshal who is hired to
hunt and track down Vin Diesel and
Paul Walker."
"He's a former bounty hunter,"
Johnson explained. "He has a unique
group of guys who, when the government has
issues in trying to track down and find
individuals, they call my character." Johnson's
not saying, but he's clear on what his orders
will be: "I get me and my guys,
we're gonna hunt them down, we're gonna track
them, we're gonna bring their asses in, we're
gonna whip their asses. Not necessarily in
that order."

OF TAKERS AS OPENING NIGHT SELECTION
The 14th Annual American Black Film
Festival, taking place in Miami, June
23rd – 26th, today announced its festival
film slate with, Takers
(Screen Gems) as the opening night film
selection.
ABFF Founder, Jeff Friday, states "I
am honored to present Takers as the opening
night film. My goal has always been to open
the festival with a film that captivates the
audience and represents the work of
multi-ethnic filmmakers and actors. I am very
grateful to Rainforest Films and Screen Gems
for their continued support of the festival."
Movie tickets go on sale June 15.
Ticket prices range from $12 – $20.
Advance tickets for screenings held at the
Colony Theater will go on sale June 15th and
can be purchased at

FAST FIVE SHOOTING IN ARIZONA |
According to
Comingsoon.net,
Fast Five,
the fifth installment of the Fast and Furious
franchise, will shoot in
Puerto Rico from July to August.
Streets, neighborhoods and local offices will
fill in for Brazil where most of the
plot takes place.
In the film, Dom (Vin Diesel) and Brian
(Paul Walker) return as fugitives being
pursued by relentless lawmen. They are joined
by Dwayne Johnson, TJ Hassan,
Tego Calderon and Don Omar.
Currently,
the movie is filming in Parker, AZ
through July 8th.
A location scout for Universal Pictures,
Justin Besemer, has been roaming La
Paz County and the California area
for three weeks trying to find the right
scenery for "Fast and Furious 5."
The Parker Area Chamber of Commerce was
contacted by a studio representative April 7,
who said a film crew would be in the area
approximately May 24 to July 8.
Besemer said the locations would be for
the Second Unit Production of the film.
He noted action shots would be filmed. "We
are looking at railroad land, and rail cars
are being brought in from around the nation.
There will be filming near the California
towns of Rice, Vidal Junction and Vidal,"
Besemer said. Filming on relatively
untouched land is a goal. Besemer has
looked at county land upriver, at Parker
South, Hope, the county fairgrounds and plans
to look at the county landfill area. On the
railroad land, there will be stunt work and
some explosions.

Shooting on
Fast Five
will run from June 28, 2010 through October
15, 2010 in Los Angeles, Atlanta,
Puerto Rico and Rio de Janeiro,
Brazil. Vin Diesel and Paul Walker
will reprise their roles and an offer has been
made to Dwayne Johnson to co-star.
Local extras will be hired in all filming
locations. Auditions and open casting calls

visited Puerto Rico, searching for filming locations. Some of the
location visited are Viejo San Juan and El Yunque, Oso Blanco,
the Minillas tunnel, some beaches and building of government. Filming of

the location for a pool party hosted by
Lacoste. Just a walk from festival
grounds, the label hosted celebs and VIPs for

REACT WITH SAVE THE WAVES IN CHILE |
|
Other
news from Chile. Save The
Waves Coalition, operating though a
passionate volunteer ground team led by
professional surfers Ramon Navarro,
Greg Long and Kohl Christensen,
completed the first phase of its Chile relief
efforts by distributing nearly 1,000 water
filters to provide clean drinking water for up
to 10,000 Chileans, many of who live in remote
coastal areas and were cut off from clean
water in the wake of the 8.8-magnitude
earthquake and subsequent tsunami on February
27, 2010. along with other essential supplies
to coastal Chile. While Greg Long and
crew were operating out of Pichilemu to
the north, Save The Waves environmental
director Josh Berry has been based
further south in the Curanipe region,
working alongside actor Paul Walker
and his REACT Worldwide team of
doctors and medics, an organization that was
founded by Walker.
“The Save The Waves–REACT effort was an
incredibly inspiring teamwork experience that
combined Save The Waves’ years of field
experience in Chile with REACT’s medical
knowledge, fearlessness and energy for
disaster relief,”
said Berry.
“Paul threw himself into the thick of the
heaviest situations with passion and
intelligence. The chemistry between the
organizations was immediate and we’ll
definitely be working together again.”
The distribution of the water filters marks
the completion of phase one of the relief
efforts, which were primarily focused on
getting clean drinking water to those who were
cut off in coastal areas. Save The Waves’
phase-two work will begin shortly, focusing on
helping coastal communities in Chile’s Regions
VI and VII rebuild and restore economic
activity, including potentially fishing, surf
